Scattergram Counselling and Consulting

About Me

The A.C.C.E.P.T. Modality of Neurodiversity-Affirming Care emerged from my lived experience of neurodivergence, my professional Social Work knowledge, and my experience as a Professor of Social Work.  It embodies the new paradigm understanding of neurodivergence as difference, not disorder. At Scattergram, individual, couple, family, parent, and group therapy for youth and adults, are all grounded in the A.C.C.E.P.T. Modality. Clinical Supervision for  new and experienced social workers and therapists is grounded in this modality and experience working with a wide cross-section of youth and adults who are diagnosed or self-diagnosed with ADHD, ASD, Autism Spectrum, Asperger’s (former), learning disabilities (e.g. Dyslexia, Dyspraxia), giftedness, twice and thrice exceptionalities, and other differences in neurotype. Issues include burnout, executive functioning, failure to achieve potential, cross-neurotype communication, puberty, transition to adulthood, career transitions, transition to parenthood, relationships, parenting neurodivergent kids, developmental trauma, recovery from a stigmatized identity, self-advocacy skills, etc.
