About Me

Hi,

I’m the Executive Director of the Trauma & Grief Institute (TGI), an EMDRIA-approved EMDR Consultant, an author, and I facilitate trainings through TGI and CTRI. I’m also a Basic Training Coach with EMDR Consulting.

I love consultation because it’s one of the best places to think out loud, get unstuck, and keep growing as a clinician. I bring an attachment-informed, parts work, and polyvagal lens to our work together—because so often what looks like “resistance” is really protection, and what looks like “symptoms” is a nervous system doing its best.

My goal is for consultation to feel practical and supportive. We can talk case conceptualization, stuck points, pacing, resourcing, target selection, and how to work with dissociation and high-protection responses in a way that still feels respectful and human. And truly: there’s no such thing as a stupid question. I’m a firm believer in lifelong learning—especially from each other—and I want you to leave our time together feeling clearer, steadier, and ready for your next session.

Approach to Supervision

A lot of people use the word supervision when what they really mean is: “I want a solid space to talk through cases, get unstuck, and keep growing.” I’m very much here for that. Technically, what I offer is clinical consultation, not supervision. The key difference is where responsibility and sign-off sit. With supervision, the supervisor may carry a formal level of oversight depending on your situation, and they’re often the person who can sign off on qualifying hours (depending on your college/association requirements). With consultation, you remain the most responsible clinician—I’m supporting your clinical thinking, but I’m not taking on oversight of your caseload. If you’re working toward EMDRIA Certification, consultation hours with me can be used toward those requirements (as applicable within EMDRIA’s guidelines). At the same time, my consultation does not replace the supervision or qualifying requirements needed to become fully qualified/registered as a psychotherapist. My leadership style is collaborative and open. I want this to feel like a space where you can be heard, ask anything, and not worry about sounding “behind.” We’ll slow it down, make sense of what’s happening, and problem-solve together so you leave with practical next steps you can use right away.
