Kimberley Rickard BA, BSW, MSW, RSW

I am a social worker in private practice since 2017, providing counselling services to those aged 16 and over. My specialization is older adults, especially attending to the needs of grief, bereavement, loss, challenging relationships, adjustment to retirement, long-term care needs, placement, chronic illness, coping with pain, mental health concerns, anxiety, depression, loneliness, death of a significant other, and financial concerns.

My beginnings started in nursing, where I was trained as a Registered Nursing Assistant. The fit was not right for me, because my patients wanted me to talk with them instead of care needs like bedmaking, and multiple expectations for many patients, limiting how I felt a quality relationship should look. I found this in social work, and have never looked back.

I have been very fortunate to have several varied experiences in my social work career, and as a potential supervisor for you, giving back and sharing would be very fulfilling.

My style is warm, non -judgemental, and supportive. Being a recent Master’s student, I understand how important a relationship that is nurturing and fosters growth is, and I want to replicate the experience that helped me.
