Emilia Pacholec, New Moon Psychotherapy
About Me
I am a Registered Psychotherapist, Clinical Director of New Moon Psychotherapy, and a trauma and sex therapist specializing in supporting survivors of sexual and criminal violence. My clinical work focuses on PTSD, Complex PTSD, dissociation, emotion dysregulation, intimacy after trauma, and relationships affected by trauma.
Before entering private practice, I worked extensively with individuals experiencing Borderline Personality Disorder, as well as justice-involved and high-risk youth. Alongside my clinical work, I have contributed to research evaluating psychotherapeutic interventions, published on Dialectical Behaviour Therapy with high-risk youth, presented at national conferences, and developed treatment programs integrating Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and other trauma-informed approaches. I’ve also created programming focusing on sex and intimacy after sexual trauma and supporting loved somes who are struggling with PTSD.
I am passionate about supporting the next generation of trauma therapists and currently accept a limited number of practicum students each year. My supervision is collaborative, genuine, and direct. I believe the strongest clinicians are developed through curiosity, thoughtful reflection, constructive challenge, and opportunities to stretch beyond their comfort zone while feeling genuinely supported.
