Cheryl Otterbein – Life Is Now Therapy

As a Registered Counselling Supervisor (RCS) and Master Therapeutic Counsellor (MTC), I provide supervision that blends compassion, ethical integrity, and real-world clinical insight. My goal is to help counsellors and hypnotherapists deepen confidence, sharpen skills, and develop a reflective, grounded professional identity.

With over a decade of experience in psychotherapy, clinical hypnotherapy, and education, I bring a trauma-informed and holistic perspective to every supervision relationship. My background includes extensive work in trauma recovery, grief, emotional regulation, and integrative hypnotherapy. I believe supervision should be a collaborative, supportive process — one that nurtures both competence and confidence.

I am the Founder and Director of Meristem Therapy Academy, a Canadian training institute offering advanced diploma and continuing education programs in Counselling with Hypnotherapy. I also serve as President of the International Association of Counselling Hypnotherapists (I.A.C.H.) and a Board Director with FACT BC, working toward the advancement of counselling regulation and standards across Canada.

I offer individual and group supervision, both online and in-person, from Sturgeon County, Alberta, supporting supervisees in Alberta and British Columbia. My approach integrates ethics, trauma-informed care, and reflective practice to help practitioners strengthen their clinical decision-making, self-awareness, and confidence.
