About Me

I’m Avril Ferguson, MA, RP, RSW, CCC, OVCS, a clinical supervisor, psychotherapist, educator, and practice owner based in Ontario. My work is grounded in extensive experience supporting clinicians, building and leading multidisciplinary practices, and providing advanced clinical care.

I specialize in perinatal and reproductive mental health, trauma, grief and loss, IFS-informed practice, and complex clinical presentations. I am an IFS Certified Therapist with advanced training in clinical supervision, and perinatal mental health. Also, I regularly teach and develop professional education for clinicians.

Alongside my clinical and supervisory work, I am completing a Doctor of Behavioral Health and have a strong interest in clinician development, rural mental health, integrated care, and strengthening the quality of psychotherapy practice.

I love working with clinicians who are thoughtful, curious, and invested in becoming excellent at what they do.

Approach to Supervision

My approach to supervision is relational, reflective, developmental, and practical. I focus on helping therapists strengthen clinical judgment, build confidence, deepen case conceptualization, and develop a clearer sense of professional identity. I offer individual, dyadic, group, and intensive supervision, allowing clinicians to choose the format that best supports their learning and stage of practice. Supervision may include case consultation, ethics, boundaries, risk, countertransference, use of self, therapist development, and navigating complex clinical work. My style is supportive and approachable while still offering thoughtful challenge, direct feedback, and practical guidance. I want supervision to be a place where clinicians can bring uncertainty, ask difficult questions, and leave feeling clearer and more confident in their work.
